The desktop requires less desk space and despite being weighty, is more manoeuvrable than its predecessor.

However, the clear side panel, which is visually appealing does not go in a PC designed for a professional setting. Furthermore, compared to other Alienware desktops, the interior is less captivating and somewhat cramped because it lacks the interest that RGB lighting adds.

This PC has an amazing port selection, with many ports on the front and back to cater to a variety of connectivity requirements. Aesthetically, the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i has that elegant gamer look that all Lenovo Legion products have. Storm Grey, Lenovo’s name for the nearly matte-black color, is one aspect of its design. However, a large part of it can be attributed to Lenovo’s ability to give the case texture through the front and top venting without adding angular lines.

Additionally, the RGB lighting is integrated in various ways, creating an eye-catching light display as opposed to a few isolated areas. The RGB-lit cooling fans’ brilliant colors are brought to life by the venting design, which also prominently displays the illuminated “LEGION” branding on the front of the case. The glass side panel, which is secured by two screws, lets you view the graphics card’s branding and the lighting emanating from the rear cooling fan.

The ventilation is good, as there are no issues with a thermal bottleneck or potential overheating. So also, there are no issues with internal temperatures, along with the three cooling fans and the one on the CPU.

There are plenty of ports; the top panel holds two USB ports along with a headphone and mic jack, but there is no USB-C which can be found on the back with just two of them. Moreover, there is no optical out.

It is advisable to stick to a 1080p resolution, where it performs well at handling medium settings. Though the PC may struggle with demanding tasks, especially with ray tracing enabled, keeping this feature turned off can eliminate potential performance issues.

The dazzling light display also extends to the fans and RAM sticks, Accessing the internal components is quite easy, due to the easily removable side panel that requires no tools—just a simple push of a button. The internal layout is well-organized, simplifying the process of replacing or upgrading parts without the need for intricate navigation. However, it’s worth noting that there’s a plastic placeholder covering the graphics card, which can be unscrewed when necessary for card replacement.

There are a decent number of ports available. The front ports are located next to the power button on the top of the tower and are limited to two USB-A ports,  then there is a headphone jack and a mic jack. To connect USB-C peripherals, you’ll have to use the back, which has two USB-C ports along with four USB-A ports.

While operating at normal power settings, the fans don’t spin up all that often, even during gaming sessions, although they do kick in at some point, potentially causing hindrance to an immersive gaming experience.

Nevertheless, the PC excels in all other aspects, making it one of the best computers you have come across in the market. Its stunning design, particularly its captivating ARGB lighting, adds to its aesthetics. With an abundance of ports and a spacious, well-organized chassis, it provides ample space for customization and future upgrades. Performance-wise, it meets and exceeds expectations.

The excessive fan noise creates a major issue for certain users, making tasks like recording live audio or engaging in voice chat challenging. This problem isn’t new; the 2022 version of the Predator Orion 7000 (2023) had the same issue and was being criticized for it, suggesting that Acer was aware of the issue.
